Thanks to Oliver and Synthtronic it is now possible to import PO-cities into the singleplayer-mode. Therefore we need to localize the directories of the savegames. These can be found here:

[Win7/Vista] C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\upload
[Win7/Vista] C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\live\your Nickname\solo

[WinXP] C:\Documents and settings\Username\Local settings\AppData\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\upload
[WinXP] C:\Documents and settings\Username\Local settings\AppData\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\live\your Nickname\solo

First of all you need to create a completely new city in SP on an unused map. Use the city name of your already existing city in PO. Just open this new city and proceed by saving it. Now you need to quit CitiesXL.
When being on the desktop you have to transfer the file of your city made in PO to the folder which contains the SP cities. Therefore go to "...\Cities XL\upload" and copy the correct file (you might sort the savegames by date in descending arrangement to get to know the latest file) to "...\Cities XL\solo". Rename this file by using the name of your most recent city made in SP (the city you have saved the most lately). Before you need to delete this mentioned savegame (SP) as your PO-city will replace your current city in SP. So one could say that the game thinks that the original savegame still exists as the name is the same but the file does not contain the SP-city but the PO-city.

PS: Please be aware of the fact that deleted cities are irreplaceable. Once they are deleted you cannot undo precedent steps. Actually nothing should happen when following this description but creating a backup never hurts.

If you are not able to localize specific folders please go to Control panel\folder options\views\hidden files and folders\display all files and folders.
